Auckland Launch Year 1983 Hull Material Composite Kevlar nomex foam, A
yachting icon in New Zealand and around the world, and a veteran of some of
the toughest international yacht races, Pacific Sundance has a heritage and
performance record that has played a significant part in shaping New Zealand's
place in yacht racing. Designed by Bruce Farr and built by Cookson Boats in
1983 to the highest standards in advanced composite construction, Pacific Sundance
has flown the New Zealand flag in premiere race events, including The Kenwood
Cup, Sydney Hobart, One Ton Cup, Southern Cross Series and short offshore races
from the Three Kings, White Island, Coastal and Bay Race Week while additionally
participating in Club racing. A consistent performer, placing at the top end,
she also offers a high standard of comfort and practicality for cruising. "Sundance"
has many friends and has provided scores of emerging young sailors the opportunity
to hone their skills and seamanship on a highly competitive and expertly campaigned
race yacht. Now, after 20 years of complete dedication to her cause, and maintained
to the highest standards, the time has come to pass the Sundance mantle on and
with it the custodial responsibility of maintaining and campaigning one of New
Zealand's true modern classics. Sundance would be best utilized by a syndicate
who enjoys great racing and cruising, as is well proven by the current owners,
crew, family and friends. All important is an on-going commitment to cherish
the yacht and add value to her legacy...
