Comment from Facebook 2022 "From there, David started sailing with Morrie Kirk aboard his two-toner Hurricane Deck in many of the Mexico races and always skippered the boat back. While sailing on Hurricane Deck, he met Dick Deaver and teamed up with him. “Dick would always invite me on the different racing programs if I would deliver the boat back,”

Comment from Facebook 2022 "Boat was bought
by Will Philips late 80’s early 90’s. The previous owner had blown
his brains out on the boat. Steve Grillon, Jeff Thorpe and I spent a year or
two kicking it around the course."

Comments from Facebook "Hurricane Deck was a
much earlier Peterson design. Willpower, IIRC, was among the last masthead IOR
boats.. those 2 boats are different generations…"
"Can’t be Hurricane Deck unless they added
a couple of feet, changed the stern, and did some time-travel. HD was a 1976
or 1977 design IIRC, same vintage as dogpatch. my bet it’s one of the
later Choate-built 42s (Geronimo, Mini-x-press, etc)"
