110,000, After the finish of the inaugural Portimão Global Ocean Race,
four of the competing yachts - which have proved capable of withstanding the
Southern Ocean and a 33,000 mile circumnavigation - were immediately put on
the market; Beluga Racer, Team Mowgli, Roaring Forty and Kazimir Partners.
With the increasing demand for Class 40 yachts, interest in the boats is high
and the event’s overall double-handed winner, Beluga Racer of Boris
Herrmann and Felix Oehme, has already been sold and is now owned by Dutch
solo sailor, Nico Budel, as a replacement for his Open 40 Hayai lost during
Leg 2 of the Portimão Global Ocean Race when Budel was forced to abandon
the boat after developing severe keel bulb failure....
