2016 22 mars, Class 40 No. 53 ‘Tzu Hang’ is a very tidy example of the Akilaria RC1. This boat is build no 10 and features the more popular open racing cockpit layout. All the halyards and reefing lines run in tunnels either side of the cabin to easily accessible Harken winches via Spinlock clutches, steering is by twin carbon tillers. The deck layout features 3D headsail sheeting rings and a retracting carbon bowsprit. The open plan interior arrangement facilitates easy stacking and moving of all internally stowed equipment and stores whilst sailing. The dedicated navigation station and ergonomic galley design make the interior very usable for short-handed racing or fast cruising. A good race record in her early years including podium places in the 1st Artemis Transat, the Quebec-St Malo and the Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables. With very light summer use in recent years and with little time to use her now the owner wants to move on. Available for viewing in Northern France

2023 January, Class 40 #53 - FOR
SALE - A VENDRE, A solid, 1st generation dual purpose Class 40 Akilaria RC1
racer/cruiser in good condition. Originally raced short-handed in the Transat
Jacques Vabre, D-Day quickly achieved podium places in the Artemis Transat,
Transat Quebec St Malo & Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables. Most recently she
has competed in the Aegean 600 with a full crew. With an extensive inventory
of sails and equipment included in the price, she is priced to sell and will
be ideal for either racing or fast cruising. As a vintage category Class 40,
these boats get their own ranking as well as overall scores within Class 40
events, allowing for some competitive racing. In Europe these Akilaria RC1
are still being raced against the best of the Class 40 fleet and can perform
well. Due to their comfort levels the RC1 can also be easily modified for
fast blue water cruising. With many more miles of performance racing or cruising,
D-Day will be enjoyed by a new owner who may wish to invest in some work to
maintain and improve performance. Lying: Sozopol, Bulgaria
