and Nicholson 33 Yacht FOR SALE"Beatnic" a fin keel cruiser racer
for sale. History and Construction - Built in the UK in 1976 as an IOR 3/4 ton
racer, designed for offshore cruising and racing. These Nicholson 33's have
a proven track record, and sisterships have twice won the Fastnet Race, the
last time only back in 2005, against more recently designed vessels. Another
sistership won the Round the Island race in her class. Currently this vessel
is used as a family sailing boat, with three children on board for weekends
away."Beatnic" has been with the current owner since 2008 and there
are two former owners. The engine was replaced in 2004, with a popular lightweight
Yanmar. The interior is wide beam with the galley is to port of the companionway,
a small work area with cooker, coolbox and sink. The chart table is to starboard
leading to the quarterberth. The saloon has three single berths with two being
outboard bunks. Forward of the saloon is the toilet compartment with sink and
loo, and the forepeak is dedicated to the twin V berth, with storage under.
The Nicholson 33 yacht cockpit has moulded seats with good lockers under. The
topsides gelcoat is in fair condition and the decks have painted non-slip, newly
painted this year. The rudder stock and rudder were replaced in 2010. Comments
- A fast cruiser racer, now a family boat with a good solid feel. Good headroom
and wide beam make for a spacious feel inside. Easy to work decks, still with
capability if you want a "round the cans" club racer, or alternatively
if you are looking something for coastal cruising without compromise on speed
that will get you across to France with flair. Good looking boat with retrousse
transom, looks the business for a no-nonsense sailer. Call us now to book an
appointment to come and view the Nicholson 33 "Beatnic". Lying - Afloat,

cruising the south coast of Devon and Cornwall and many trips to the Isles of
Scilly, two long trips in May and June 2020.
Apart from a break during covid, Beatnic has been taken out of the water every
year for antifouling and anode replacement. in 2023 she was taken out at QAB
for a complete antifoul removal scrape and primed and antifouled with four coats.
Also, a new propeller shaft mane seal was replaced. Other than that, she has
had general maintenance over the years with various electronic upgrades.
