The ‘Joker’ is designed and built in 1979 by Alain
Jézéquel for Fred Imhoff.
Imhoff has sailed her very
successful until the end of the IOR quartton rule. The ‘Joker’
is a boat with good looks and a rich history.
2010 Current
owner owns the boat since 2000 and restored the boat completely. The owner
is industrial design engineer and combines a passion for sailing with a
passion for overhaul and maintenance. The boat is in racing condition and
easy to maintain. The Joker got a new paintjob in October 2009 and the hull
is in a 100% condition. Under the water line the hull is spray painted with
Coppercoat: no maintenance or anti-fouling needed for the next 10 years.
The beautiful Sparcraft F78 mast is supplied by Neutmast in 2006. In recent
years the boat has been used for racing and cruising to the UK.
Owner is aiming for short handed offshore racing. This boat is too small
for that purpose, that is why she is for sale. All tests are allowed. For
more information see details below. Construction: Hull and Deck: full kevlar-epoxy
inner scale, foam core (12 mm) and glass-epoxy outer scale (approx 1,8 mm)
Mainframe: Stainless steel frame laminated in the hull. All main forces
are lead to this frame: rigging, keel, engine and mast are mounted onto
this frame.
Keel: fin keel of casted lead with a steel inner frame. Rudder: Balanced
rudder (2006). Shaft made of aluminum 6000 alloy with plywood rudder blade
and finished with glass-epoxy. Shaft runs in 3 nylon bearings in titanium
tube. Certificates: ORC certificate present, NED2736. Asking 28,000 Euros.
