From Brenda Delany: Chia Chia' Designed by Hugh Welbourne. Originally had panda feet painted on hull below waterline. Original owner was Peter Whipp from Isle-of-Man, a regular competitor in the Commodores Cup with boats called 'Panda', He needed a race boat for a non- Commodore Cup year, so he built a half tonner. 
‘Chia Chia’ GBR 584 is the only known Half Tonner designed by Hugh Welbourne
